The first Division I Women’s ITA Collegiate Tennis National Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point have been released for Preseason Singles, Doubles, and Newcomer rankings for the 2022-23 season.
North Carolina placed five individuals among the top 31 players in the nation, led by No. 12 Elizabeth Scotty.
UCLA transfer Abbey Forbes checks in at No. 15 in her first ranking as a Tar Heel.
Junior Fiona Crawley begins the fall campaign at No. 21 and is followed by sophomore Carson Tanguilig at No. 28 and junior Reilly Tran at No. 31.
A new set of doubles teams enter the rankings for the first time. Scotty and Forbes are No. 31, while Crawley and freshman Reese Brantmeier are No. 33.
Tanguilig and Tran begin the year at No. 36.
Brantmeier, who just reached the second round of doubles at the U.S. Open, has been selected No. 2 in the freshman/newcomer rankings.
