ITA Regionals Up Next for Florida Women’s Tennis


ATLANTA – Florida women’s tennis will make the trip to Atlanta this weekend to compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Southeast Regional from Oct. 13-17, hosted by Georgia Tech.
 
GATORS IN ATLANTA
Eight Gators will be making the trek to Georgia Tech for the Southeast Regional this week. Of the eight, six athletes will represent Florida in the main singles draw, including: Carly Briggs, Emily De Oliveira, Rachel Gailis, Emma Shelton, Bente Spee and Anastasia Sysoeva. Freshman Sophie Williams will compete in qualifying singles, which begins Thursday.
 
On the doubles side, all four doubles squads for UF will be featured in the main draw. Pairs will be: Gailis and Spee, Dudeney and Briggs, Shelton and Sysoeva, and De Oliveira and Williams.

Parking: Fans are directed to park in the W23 lot off of State Street. Parking is pay per hour.

DAILY SCHEDULE
Thursday, Oct. 13 – Qualifying Draw: Two rounds of doubles, Two rounds of singles; Singles to begin at 9 a.m. ET with doubles to follow at 1 p.m. ET
Friday, Oct. 14 – Main Draw: Doubles Round of 32, Singles Round of 64; play begins at 9 a.m. ET with one round of doubles and two rounds of singles
Saturday, Oct. 15 – Main Draw: Doubles Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, Singles Round of 16, Consolation; Play begins at 9 a.m. ET with two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles. Consolation all day.
Sunday, Oct. 16 – Main Draw: Singles Quarterfinals and Semifinals, Doubles Semifinals, Consolation; Play begins at 9 a.m. ET with two rounds of singles followed by one round of doubles. Consolation all day.
Monday, Oct. 17 – Main Draw: Singles and Doubles Final, Consolation Singles and Doubles Final; Play begins at 9 a.m. ET.
 
ON THE LINE
The singles champions and doubles champions from each of the ITA Division I Regional Championships held across the country receive automatic entry into the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships. The 2022 ITA National Fall Championships will be held Nov. 2-6 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
