The power duo of Gailis and Dudeney came together this fall as the two earned an NCAA Doubles Championship berth via the Regional Championship Title on Oct. 22. The pair defeated five teams at the regional event to boast a 5-0 record heading into NCAA Championship play.
While competing at NCAA’s, Dudeney and Gailis tallied three additional victories to hold an impressive 8-0 record ahead of the semifinal matchup on Nov. 23. The Gators fell short against then-ranked No. 3, Virginia’s Melodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky, in a Final Four tiebreaker. Despite the semifinal loss, the pair recorded Florida’s furthest NCAA doubles run since 2016.
Florida’s No. 3 doubles pairing will head into spring tennis with an 8-1 record.
National rankings consist of the Top 125 singles rankings as well as the Top 125 doubles rankings. The Dec. 3 rankings will be the final singles and doubles rankings until February 5, while the first Division I Team Ranking will be released on January 6.
