BERKELEY, Calif. – The Husky women’s tennis team is set to compete at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships this weekend, hosted by Cal at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts in Berkeley.
The regional competition is one of 13 ITA events across the country in the month of October and will feature players from: Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary’s, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Stanford, Washington, and Washington State.
The singles and doubles finalists from this tournament and from each region will qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in November in Waco, Texas.

Huskies In The Rankings
The Huskies have sophomore Alexia Jacobs and junior Reece Carter in the doubles and singles rankings (as of Aug. 27), with the pair at No. 17. Jacobs stands at No. 54, with Carter at No. 60, in the singles rankings.
Juniors Sophie Luescher and Erika Matsuda are slotted at No. 90 in the preseason rankings as well.
