CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Following a weekend off, Illinois women’s tennis is back in action this weekend with the ITA Midwest Regionals on the docket for Oct. 20-25. The six-day event will take place indoors at Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Winners of each main draw (singles and doubles) will receive automatic berths to the ITA National Fall Championships beginning on Nov. 2.
Seven Illini will compete in the ITA Midwest Regionals event. Emily Casati and Kida Ferrari will open play in the qualifying singles draw on Thursday. Main draw singles action begins Friday with Kasia Treiber, Megan Heuser, Kate Duong, Ashley Yeah and Josie Frazier competing. The doubles main draw also begins on Friday. Duong and Heuser, Yeah and Frazier, and Casati and Ferrari will team up for doubles play.
