CARY, N.C. – Main draw action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American will open on Wednesday with four Duke women’s tennis student-athletes in singles and one doubles team competing at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
In singles, fifth-ranked Chloe Beck will face UNLV’s Molly Helgesson, sixth-ranked Cameron Morra is slated to face 109th-ranked Jayci Goldsmith of Texas A&M and eighth-ranked Georgia Drummy will battle against 17th-ranked Kari Miller of Michigan. All three matches are scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., Duke’s 100th-ranked Emma Jackson will face 10th-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State. Jackson and Cantos will go up against each other for the second time over the last week as Jackson notched a 6-4, 7-5 win in the Fall Ranked Spotlight this past Friday.
On Tuesday in singles, Duke’s 57th-ranked Brianna Shvets posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Loudmilla Bencheikh of Alabama, before falling in the qualifying singles round of 16 to 22nd-ranked Carmen Corley of Oklahoma, 3-6, 2-6.
In doubles play, the Blue Devil duo of Beck and Morra totaled an 8-5 win over Miska Kadleckova/Ange Oby Kajura of Iowa State in qualifying to advance to the main draw. Beck/Morra are set to face 14th-ranked Lahari Yelamanchili/Charlotte Russell of Tulane at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday.
Beginning Wednesday for the main draw, CrossCourt Cast will be available for the matches with Mark Bey and Alex Gruskin providing commentary. Live scoring will be available via the ITA here.
