Some stars—Maria Sakkari, Alize Cornet and John Millman among them—have spoke out supporting Simona Halep in the aftermath of her four-year doping ban.

Don’t count Nick Kyrgios on the Simona Squad.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist fired off brutal reality check to a critic on social media writing “I’d imagine if I was taking similar things [to Halep] to be banned for 4 years I’d have about 5 slams.”

Maria Sakkari is one of several players who have criticized the way Halep’s case was handled.

“One thing I can tell you for sure is the way they’re handling every situation with any player, any athlete, it’s just scary,” Sakkari said. “We’re gonna get to a point where we’re not even gonna be taking electrolytes.”

Kyrgios took direct aim at Sakkari’s statement, saying bluntly athletes control what goes into their bodies and “maybe players should stop taking shady sh*t.”

“Ehhhh not really lol, I run on bananas and coke cola in 5 set battles,” Kyrgios posted. “And my record in them speaks for itself.

“Maybe players should just stop taking shady sh*t 😂 look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and say yep I did it right. Not hard…”

Kyrgios’ comments come less than a day after 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams weighed in with her own commentary on the Halep suspension.
