SEATTLE – The Huskies make one last Pac-12 road trip to Los Angeles this week before UCLA and USC depart. With just two weeks left in the regular season, the Huskies are hunting for wins to boost their current No. 54 national ranking. They’ll look to topple the 39th-ranked Bruins on Friday, Apr. 14, in a 2 p.m. match at the L.A. Tennis Center. Then on Saturday, the Huskies visit 10th-ranked USC at Marks Stadium for a 1:30 p.m. first serve.

Washington (10-8, 1-3 Pac-12) is looking to break out of a four-match skid after suffering three-straight 2-4 losses and then an 0-4 loss at No. 12 Arizona last Sunday. Cesar Bouchelaghem is ranked once again this week, up to No. 97, while Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn are No. 58 in doubles.

UCLA is 9-7 and 1-3 in Pac-12 play, the win a 4-3 victory at Arizona State. UCLA fell 0-4 at California and 2-4 at Stanford last week. Alexander Hoogmartens is ranked No. 85 for the Bruins in singles. Patrick Zahraj has played the most matches at No. 1 singles, going 3-5 at that spot and 4-0 outside the top spot. The Huskies had two wins over UCLA last year, once in Seattle and once in a 4-3 thriller at Ojai in the Pac-12 semifinals.

The Trojans are 12-7 overall and 2-2 in Pac-12 play with big wins over Stanford, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and two non-conference wins already over UCLA. Their two Pac-12 losses were both 4-3 decisions on the road at Arizona and Cal. USC beat the Huskies last year in the Pac-12 Championship final in UW’s first finals appearance. Last year’s Pac-12 Player of the Year, Stefan Dostanic, ranks 36th nationally, while Peter Makk ranks 39th, Wojtek Marek ranks 93rd, and Bradley Frye is 123rd. In doubles, Dostanic and Frye rank No. 12.
