The Nebraska men’s tennis team has its spring 2025 schedule set, featuring 10 home duals, head coach Peter Kobelt announced Monday.
NU finished its fall season at the second Big Ten Individual Championships, where junior Lars Johann claimed tournament runner-up. Junior Nikolay Sysoev also had a strong fall singles performance, finishing the individual season 9-4 (.692) to lead the Big Red in win percentage.
The Huskers are coming off a 17-10 spring season in 2023-24, reaching the Big Ten Tournament Semifinal for the first time in program history, and the best team record since 1990. Led by Kobelt, who was named head coach in the offseason, the Big Red look to build off the previous season with six returning letterwinners.
The 2024-25 men’s team consists of seniors Anton Shepp, Calvin Mueller and Roni Hietaranta, juniors Johann, Leo Linquet, Sysoev and Joan Torres Espinosa, as well as redshirt senior Henry Bilicic and redshirt freshman Colson Wells.
Nebraska will begin its spring campaign at home, with a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 18, against Drake and Bellarmine. The Big Red will travel to Kentucky for the ITA Indoor Kick Off beginning Friday, Jan. 24. The Huskers will visit 11 opponents on the road, and host 10 duals, including six against conference foes.
Home events, noted by bold font in the below schedule, will be held at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. Home duals have free admission and parking, and can be held either indoor or outdoor depending on weather conditions.
