WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – South Carolina men’s tennis completed the Wake Forest Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon, picking up a singles win in the main draw stage.
Casey Hoole continued to build on yesterday’s success in his singles matches, advancing from semifinals after defeating Saahith Jayaraman from Duke in two sets of 6-2 and 6-3. Hoole concluded his time in Winston-Salem winning the A3 east draw, beating Vasco Prata of UNC Charlotte in three sets. He dropped the first set 2-6 before dominating the next two sets 6-1 and 6-2.
Max Stenzer won his semifinals match of the A1 west draw against Celmson’s Matt Pitts in three sets. The freshman took the first and last set with scores of 6-2, dropping the second one 2-6. His run ended in the finals match after falling in three sets to Pierre Mouesca of Georgia Southern. Stenzer claimed the second set 6-4 but lost the first and final 2-6.
Lucas Andrade da Silva lost to William Nolan of Auburn in the finals of the A2 east draw. The junior picked up the first set win 6-4 before losing the next two 4-6.
