Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina men’s tennis sophomore Casey Hoole concluded his fall season in the Round of 16 at the ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday.
Hoole fell 7-6(4), 6-3 to the tournament’s No. 2 seed Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc of Florida State. Cornut-Cahuvinc, ranked No. 105 by the ITA, is the first ranked opponent to defeat Hoole this season.
Hoole, who joined the Gamecocks in January, has had a stellar fall season, winning the ITA Carolina Regional and leading the team in singles. His 14-3 singles record includes ranked wins over Nos. 23, 60, and 80. Hoole also leads the team with the longest win streak of the fall season, winning eight straight matches.
While Hoole’s fall season in complete, select members of the men’s tennis squad will play at the Alabama Fall Invite Nov. 4 through Nov. 6.
