The Hokies boasted their usual doubles pairings, and were able to clinch on courts one and three. Ryan Fishback and Maxime St. Hilaire continue their strong performances as a duo, besting Kieran Foster and Zamaan Moledina, 6-2. On court three, Michael Shepheard and Alex Ix clinched the point with a 6-4 victory over Derek Raskopf and Burke Pablo. Matt Harper and Alberto Orso held a 5-4 lead on the middle court, but didn’t finish due to clinching on court three.
As has been the routine for most of the early season, Alex Ix would be the first to finish in singles play, earning a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Derek Raskopf. No. 102 Ryan Fishback would follow up with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Jake Fellows on court one. Ix earned his fifth win of the 2024 campaign, while Fishback earned his team-leading seventh win.
The clinching match would come on court four, as Michael Shepheard would bring the match home, defeating Kieran Foster by scores of 6-3, 6-2. On court six, Alberto Orso would have a bounce-back performance, winning his match against Burke Pablo 6-3, 6-4.
Maxime St. Hilaire would match Fishback for the team lead with his seventh victory, a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Zamaan Moledina on court two. The match would conclude on court three with a 6-2, 7-6 Hugo Maia victory.
