LAKE NONA, Fla. – The NCAA Doubles Championship commenced Wednesday at the USTA National Campus, with Johannus Monday and Pat Harper of the Tennessee men’s tennis team bowing out in the Round of 32.
Monday and Harper, the nation’s fourth-ranked duo, fell to Louisville’s 12th-ranked pairing of Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle, 4-6, 7-5, 0-1(6-10).
The Tennessee duo finished the year at 17-5 together in doubles, having been paired together in each match that they both were active for since Jan. 22.
Harper concluded his illustrious collegiate career Wednesday with a 96-38 (.716) overall doubles record and wrapped up his time as a Vol at No. 10 on Tennessee’s all-time doubles wins list. Monday, the 2023 SEC Player of the Year, logged a 20-5 doubles record this season, rising to a career-high ITA national doubles ranking of No. 2 with Harper in March.
