WACO, TEXAS – Senior Grace Piper is set to keep dancing at the NCAA women’s tennis championships after winning her first-round singles match on Tuesday morning.
Piper kicked off her second NCAA singles tournament with a bang, defeating her opponent Lucie Petruzelova from Ole Miss in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Next up, Piper will face off in the round of 32 against No. 16 Julia Garcia Ruiz from Oklahoma State on Wednesday at 9 a.m. CT/7 a.m. PT.
Sophomore Lily Fairclough will also see action Wednesday, as she and Piper team up in the double’s championship. They will compete in the round of 32 match against the host site pairing of Liubov Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea from Baylor.
