CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami and Wake Forest advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championships after registering wins on Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park.
Three teams swept their opponents, 4-0, as No. 6 Florida State blanked No. 14 Louisville, No. 5 Miami shutout No. 12 Clemson and No. 7 Georgia Tech swept No. 10 Syracuse. No. 9 Wake Forest downed No. 8 Notre Dame, 4-3, with Nevena Carton clinching the match for the Demon Deacons on Court Four with a three-set, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, victory over Carrie Beckman.
The quarterfinals start at 10 a.m. Friday with top-seeded North Carolina facing off with No. 9 Wake Forest and No. 4 Virginia battling No. 5 Miami. The 12:30 p.m. quarterfinals feature No. 2 Duke playing No. 7 Georgia Tech and No. 3 NC State battling No. 6 Florida State.
Both the semifinals Saturday along with the championship match Sunday are slated for 10 a.m. The Saturday semifinal match featuring the highest remaining seed and the Sunday championship match will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
Single day tickets are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older; children under 9 and ACC students get in free with school ID) and $7 for youth ages 17 and under.
