Freshman Trio, Doubles Pairs Tabbed to ITA’s Weekly Rankings


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 29 Florida Gators Men’s Tennis saw a season-high three players named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Singles Rankings this week, Including Aidan Kim’s return and Adhithya Ganesan’s debut in the top-125. Florida also nets another two doubles tandems in the top-75 doubles rankings for the second-straight ranking.
 
No. 115 Aidan Kim returns to the top-125 for the first time since November 15, 2023 in ITA’s Preseason singles rankings. Kim is coming off of two ranked wins in his last four singles matches, including a win over No. 58 Ryan Colby to give the Gators the lead in the dual with Georgia.
 
No. 85 Adhithya Ganesan makes his debut on the top-125 this week after returning to the lineup this weekend against Georgia, picking up a crucial win over Niels Ratiu. Ganesan Started the season as one of the hottest players in the country, winning 14-straight sets in singles and doubles to start in dual season.
 
No. 57 Jin remains in the rankings and achieves his highest ranking of the season. Despite a few tough matches as of late, Jin still holds five wins over currently ranked opponents on the season, including No. 43 Planinsek of Alabama and No. 53 Slavic of Ole Miss. He is the only gator to be ranked in every Singles ranking since the preseason list in November.
 
The Gators’ top doubles tandem of Kim and Nate Bonetto took a leap up to No. 42 in this weeks rankings. The two have lead Florida’s success in doubles, winning their last three doubles sets in the Gators’ matches with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Georgia. Ganesan and Tanapatt Nirundorn hold steady, coming in at 59 after their early-season success. The two lead Florida’s doubles efforts to start the dual season but have not competed together since March 12.
