SEATTLE – Two returning Huskies and two new Huskies all found their names in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s preseason singles and doubles rankings that were unveiled on Tuesday.
Ranked No. 17 in doubles to start the fall are new Dawg Reece Carter and sophomore Alexia Jacobs. Seventeen matches the highest preseason doubles ranking for any Huskies since at least 2008. Vanessa Wong and Natsuho Arakawa were 17th in 2020 and Joyce Ardies and Denise Dy were also No. 17 in 2009.
Jacobs will start her sophomore season ranked 54th in singles and Carter, the transfer from Arizona, is close behind at No. 60.
Also ranked in doubles is junior Erika Matsuda paired with another new Husky, former Oregon standout Sophie Luescher. Matsuda and Luescher are ranked 90th in doubles to start things off.
