SPOKANE, Wash. – Four Washington State singles players and one doubles team advanced to bracket finals at the Gonzaga Fall Invitational Saturday at the Stevens Center on Gonzaga’s campus.
Sophomore Yura Nakagawa and Eva Alvarez Sande each captured a pair of singles wins in the Gold Draw and will meeting in Sunday’s final. In the Blue Draw, senior Fifa Kumhom needed three sets in her second-round match before cruising in the semifinal and will play in the title match Sunday morning.
Redshirt-junior Hania Abouelsaad posted straight-set wins in her two matches and will play Sunday in the Red Draw final.
In doubles action, Nakagawa and Kumhom advanced to Sunday’s Gold Draw final while Alvarez Sande and Tse dropped their semifinal match.
Play concludes Sunday at the Gonzaga Fall Invitational.
