Florida Tallied at No. 3 in SEC Preseason Poll


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced the women’s tennis coaches’ preseason poll, with Florida tabbed at No. 3. The ranking comes after the Gators were placed at No. 9 in ITA’s poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon.
 

Overall, Texas A&M was picked as No. 1 and is currently ranked 10th in the ITA rankings. The Aggies finished last season 30-3, including going undefeated in conference play and winning back-to-back SEC titles, putting them as the SEC favorite for 2023-24.
 
The top half of the league also includes Georgia at second with 187 points, Florida voted third with 160 points, Auburn with 155 points for fourth, Vanderbilt at fifth with 143 points, and South Carolina and Tennessee tied for sixth at 119 points.
 
The preseason poll is voted on by the women’s tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.
