TALLAHASSEE — The Florida State men’s tennis team has been selected as the No. 2 seed in the Mississippi State region for the 2024 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Florida State will play No. 3 seed Arizona State in the opening round of the regional. The winner will advance to face either No. 1 seed Mississippi State or No. 4 seed VCU.
The 15th annual ITA Kickoff Weekend will take place January 26-29, 2024, with 15 host locations throughout the country. The winner of the Mississippi State region will earn a spot in the 2024 ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center at Columbia University.
Last year Florida State defeated San Diego 4-2 and advanced to play host Baylor in the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The Seminoles finished the season with 20 wins, three of which were against top-15 opponents, and ended the year ranked No. 20 in the ITA National Tennis Team Rankings.
Mississippi State earned 21 wins in the spring and advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Team Championship. The Bulldogs ended the season at No. 16 in the ITA rankings.
Arizona State finished the season with a 14-12 record and a ranking of No. 40 in the final team rankings.
VCU concluded the spring season with a 20-6 record and won the A-10 Championship. The Rams ended the season ranked No. 43 in the country.
