Seven Gators were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the fourth-consecutive season, the Florida Gators men’s tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) All-Academic Team as announced by the organization on Monday morning.

In addition, and for the first time since 2020, Florida had a program record-tying seven Gators named an ITA Scholar-Athlete as Nate Bonetto, Will Grant, Lukas Greif, Sam Riffice, Ben Shelton, Mattias Siimar and Duarte Vale all claimed the honor.

As a team, the Gators put together an impressive 3.65 GPA for the 2021-22 academic school year. The team also had the highest team GPA on campus during the spring after notching a 3.79 grade point average. 

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

To make the ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
