DURHAM – No. 25 Duke men’s tennis hosts Illinois and Northwestern this weekend for two matches at Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.

 

The Blue Devils welcome the Fighting Illini at 6 p.m., on Friday before hosting No. 23 Northwestern on Sunday at 11 a.m. Parking is available in the Blue Zone. To view the map, click HERE (PDF). Both contests this weekend be Royal Blue matches.

 

The Blue Devils are coming off 4-0 victory over No. 23 Auburn during their final match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C. Duke claimed the doubles point before receiving wins from Jake Krug, No. 4 Garrett Johns, and No. 84 Pedro Rodenas. The Blue Devils are led by Rodenas, who has clinched three of their four wins on the year. The rookie also remains undefeated in singles action at 6-0.

HISTORY WITH ILLINOIS

Friday’s contest will be the 28h all-time meeting between the two programs with the Illini holding the 19-9 edge on the series. The Blue Devils are riding a two-match winning streak over Illinois, including a 4-2 victory just a year ago.
