DURHAM – Following Thursday’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend draft, No. 11 Duke was named one of 15 host sites for the national event.
The tournament takes place January 27-28, 2024, inside Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center with the winners of each site advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 16-19, hosted by Columbia University and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Duke is the top seed in the region and hosts for the first time since 2016. The Blue Devils are joined in Durham by No. 2 seed and No. 23 ranked Middle Tennessee, No. 3 seed and No. 27 ranked California and No. 4 seed and No. 30 ranked N.C. State. The Durham regional is the only site that features four teams ranked in the ITA top 30.
This past season Duke achieved its seventh 20-win season under head coach Ramsey Smith, garnered a program-record 11 ACC victories and made its 30th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In addition, the Blue Devils hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the super regional round for the first time since 2015.
