DURHAM – No. 13 Duke men’s tennis is back on the road this weekend when it travels to No. 8 Harvard and Boston College on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The Blue Devils battle the Crimson on Friday at 5 p.m., before facing off against the Eagles on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both matches will take place at Beren Tennis Center in Cambridge, Mass.

 

Duke has two players listed in the most recent ITA singles rankings with sophomore Pedro Rodenas and redshirt senior Garrett Johns coming in at No. 31 and No. 64, respectively. Rodenas sits with a 14-7 record on the year, while Johns holds a 6-2 mark. In addition, the doubles duo of graduate students Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang are ranked in doubles action, as the pair hold the No. 21 spot.

 

HISTORY WITH NO. 8 HARVARD

Friday’s contest is the 17th all-time meeting between the two programs with Harvard holding the 14-2 edge in the series. The Crimson won the teams’ last meeting on January 22, 2023, 4-3, in Durham. Duke’s last victory over Harvard was on March 26, 2010, when the Blue Devils recorded a 4-0 win, in Cambridge, Mass.

 

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON

Harvard holds a 7-4 ledger on the season, including a 4-2 victory over No. 8 Columbia during the opening round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships last weekend. Three Crimson players are listed in the ITA singles rankings in Cooper Williams (No. 11), Daniel Milavsky (No. 116), and Henry Von Der Schulenburg (No. 118). In doubles play, Williams and Milavsky team up as the No. 7 nationally ranked pair.

 

HISTORY WITH BOSTON COLLEGE

Saturday’s contest will be the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs with the Blue Devils holding the 19-0 edge on the series. Duke recorded a 7-0 victory during the teams’ last meeting on February 24, 2023, in Durham.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

Boston College sits at 3-3 on the year after victories over Merrimack, DePaul, and most recently Assumption. The Eagles battle Southern New Hampshire on Friday prior to welcoming the Blue Devils.
