Duke Concludes Run at ITA All-American


CARY, N.C. – The Duke women’s tennis team’s run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American came to an end on Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

In Thursday’s singles play, all four Blue Devils dropped matches.  

Eighth-ranked Georgia Drummy fell, 5-7, 5-7 to 27th-ranked Rebeka Mertena of Tennessee and fifth-ranked Chloe Beck dropped a 6-3, 1-6, 0-6 decision to 28th-ranked Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina in the main draw.

In the main draw consolation bracket, 100th-ranked Emma Jackson fell, 5-7, 2-6, to 125th-ranked Julia Fliegner of Michigan and sixth-ranked Cameron Morra lost a 3-6, 6-4, 4-6 match with 34th-ranked Solymar Colling of San Diego.  

In doubles play, Duke’s tandem of Beck and Morra had their run in the main draw of doubles conclude.  The duo dropped a 5-7, 6-7 decision to Nikita Vishwase and Anastasiya Komar of LSU.

The Blue Devils will next compete in the ITA Fall Regionals in Winston-Salem, N.C., Oct. 13-16.
