Duke Concludes Action at Gamecock Ranked +1


COLUMBIA, S.C. –  The Blue Devils concluded action at the Gamecock Ranked +1 on Sunday afternoon at the Carolina Tennis Center.
 
Senior Andrew Dale and graduate student Andrew Zhang teamed up to register a doubles win after claiming a 6-4 victory over Lucas Da Silva and Cater Morgan of South Carolina in their third and final match of the event.
 
Juniors Connor Krug and Jake Krug battled Columbia’s Jayden Templeman and Max Westphal in the doubles finals of the B bracket but dropped in a 6-4 decision.
 
In singles play, Dale was edged by Templeman, 6-3, 6-4, in the final round of the A bracket, while Jake Krug was defeated by Da Silva in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
 
Arizona’s Gustaf Strom and Nick Lagaev bested Connor Krug and Zhang, respectively, in singles matches of the B bracket to round out the day for the Blue Devils.
 
Duke takes the court again Friday for the Tom Chewning Fall Invitational, hosted by North Carolina.
