EUGENE, Ore. – No. 58 Oregon begins its postseason run Wednesday at the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Tennis Tournament, as the seventh-seeded Ducks will face No. 63 and 10th-seeded Colorado Buffaloes in the opening round at 12 p.m. PT at Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Calif.

The Ducks swept Colorado during the regular season, 4-0, at the Student Tennis Center on March 17. In the matchup, UO picked up doubles victories at Nos. 1 and 3 in addition to straight-set singles wins by Ares Teixido Garcia (No. 2), Myah Petchey (No. 3) and Jo-Yee Chan (No. 6)
Oregon leads the all-time series with Colorado, 14-11, and seeks its fourth straight victory in the series. UO ousted the Buffaloes in the first round of Pac-12 Tournament a season ago, 4-3. The Buffaloes mark the Ducks’ sixth straight nationally ranked opponent, and seventh in the last eight contests.
Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral check in as the 79th-ranked doubles team in the country in the latest ITA rankings. The duo has played every match at the top spot and are 8-8 this season, including a top-five win against California.
Chan and Teixido Garcia are a team-best 12-1 this season, primarily playing at the second spot in the lineup.
In singles, Martinez Moral (11) and Chan (10) lead the Ducks in singles victories while Teixido Garcia is third at eight.
The winner of Wednesday’s first-round matchup will advance to play No. 2-seed California in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 3 p.m.
