Opening Serve: The No. 9-ranked Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will compete against No. 14 Iowa State in the opening round of the ITA Indoor National Championship in Seattle at 5:30 p.m. CT on Friday.

Competing Schools: No. 9 Vanderbilt, No. 1 Texas, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Stanford, No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 11 Ohio State, No. 12 Michigan, No. 13 Auburn, No. 14 Iowa State, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 17 San Diego, Washington.

Friday

5:30 p.m. CT – No. 14 Iowa State vs. No. 9 Vanderbilt

Saturday

5:30 p.m. CT or 8:30 p.m. CT – No. 9 Vanderbilt vs. No. 1 Texas or Washington

Sunday

TBD – No. 9 Vanderbilt vs. TBD

About the Commodores–Cyclones Matchup: This will be the first-ever matchup between Vanderbilt and Iowa State. The Cyclones are 6-1 this season with its only loss coming from an early-season match against No. 13 Auburn. Iowa State has been able to rebound from that defeat, winning the past four matches, two of which were against ranked opponents.

About the Commodores: The Dores head into the weekend seeded at No. 8. In the latest ITA poll, four Dores were ranked among the top 90 in singles: Bridget Stammel at No. 27, Celia-Belle Mohr at No. 34, Anna Ross at No. 66 and Holly Staff at No. 86. This will be Vanderbilt’s first trip to ITA National Team Indoors since 2019.

Last Time Out: The Commodores defeated Louisville 6-1 in their spring home opener Friday. Anessa Lee extended her singles win streak to eight with her back-to-back 6-0 set wins.

Up Next: Vandy will face either No. 1 Texas or Washington on Saturday.
