Donnet Moves to Second Round of ITA All-American Main Draw


TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville’s Etienne Donnet upset Harvard’s 18th-ranked Henry von der Schulenburg to advance to the second round of Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships Singles Main Draw held at the University of Tulsa.

The senior from Lyon, France opened tournament play with a 6-4 win in the first set against von der Schulenburg, but lost 6-2 in the second set. In the decisive third frame, Donnet took an early lead, and went on to outlast von der Schulenburg 7-6 with a tiebreaker score of 7-2.

Donnet moves to the round of 32 where will take on Michigan’s Ondrej Styler Thursday at 1 p.m. (ET).

In doubles action, after registering three straight wins in the qualifying draw, the Cardinals’ 48th ranked duo of Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues face Florida’s Tanapatt Nirundorn and Togan Tokac in the first round of the main draw. Salle and Rodrigues rebounded from a 6-3 first-set loss to win the second set by the same score. The teams battled through the third set which saw the Florida pair prevail 10-8.
