Donnet Moves to Second Round of ITA All-American Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville’s Etienne Donnet upset Harvard’s 18^th-ranked Henry von der Schulenburg to advance to the second round of Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships Singles Main Draw held at the University of Tulsa.

The senior from Lyon, France opened tournament play with a 6-4 win in the first set against von der Schulenburg, but lost 6-2 in the second set. In the decisive third frame, Donnet took an early lead, and went on to outlast von der Schulenburg 7-6 with a tiebreaker score of 7-2.

Donnet moves to the round of 32 where will take on Michigan’s Ondrej Styler Thursday at 1 p.m. (ET).

In doubles action, after registering three straight wins in the qualifying draw, the Cardinals’ 48^th ranked duo of Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues face Florida’s Tanapatt Nirundorn and Togan Tokac in the first round of the main draw. Salle and Rodrigues rebounded from a 6-3 first-set loss to win the second set by the same score. The teams battled through the third set which saw the Florida pair prevail 10-8.
