Novak Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam champion and the tennis world is celebrating the achievements of the most prolific champion in history. Tennis Now takes you inside the numbers of Nole’s latest crowning achievement.
⅓ – Djokovic has won exactly one third of the Grand Slam main draws he has played. 72 played, 24 won. ½ – Djokovic has reached at least the final in 36 of the 72 majors he has played. 36 finals in 72 majors. 1 – Djokovic returns to No.1 in the ATP rankings once again, commencing his 390th week as of September 11, 2023.
2 – For the second time Djokovic wins the US Open after coming back from two sets down in one of his matches during the run. He last did this in 2001, after he defeated Roger Federer in a five-set semifinal. 3: Djokovic has won each of the four Grand Slams at least three times. Djokovic Grand Slam Titles, By Tournament: Australian Open, 10 titles French Open, 3 titles Wimbledon, 7 titles US Open, 4 titles 4 – The Serbian wins his fourth US Open title, tying John McEnroe and Rafael Nadal for fourth on the all-time list.
He has won three Grand Slam singles title in a singles season four times.
5 – For the fifth time Djokovic has won a Slam in which he has rallied from two sets down to win a match. He defeated Laslo Djere 4-6 4-6 6-1 6-1 6-3 in the third round. Djokovic also achieved this feat at the 2011 US Open, 2015 Wimbledon, 2021 Roland Garros and 2022 Wimbledon.
8 – Djokovic has come back from two sets to love down eight times to win a match at a major.
10-5 – Djokovic improved to 10-5 lifetime with his win over Medvedev in Sunday’s final. 12 – Djokovic has won a dozen majors since turning 30 – the all-time record for men and women.
14 – Number of hard court Grand Slam titles Djokovic has won in his career. 10 in Australia and 4 in New York.
16 – Djokovic has won 16 of his last 20 major finals, bringing his overall record to 24-12.
24 – Djokovic ties Margaret Court on the all-time Grand Slam titles list with 24, and he is two clear of his longtime rival Rafael Nadal for the first time.
36 – Djokovic’s 36 Grand Slam finals played are the most all-time.
96 – Djokovic claims his 96th ATP title with his win in Sunday’s final.
361 – Djokovic is second on the all-time Grand Slam win list. He is now eight victories shy of Roger Federer’s record of 369 Grand Slam match wins.
