Yesterday, an MRI scan revealed a torn medial meniscus in his right knee, leading Djokovic to pull out of his quarterfinal with Casper Ruud at Roland-Garros.
Djokovic hurt the knee several weeks ago, and exacerbated the injury during his five-set victory over Francisco Cerundolo on Monday in Paris.
Djokovic will have the surgery done in a Parisian clinic by a young French surgeon. Reportedly recovery time is three weeks, which means that Djokovic’s participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games is still a good possibility.
