Novak Djokovic is a man on a major mission: Break the men’s Grand Slam record he shares with Rafael Nadal.
Elite champions dare to dream big and Djokovic’s post-playing tennis dream is so massive it may surprise you.
Medvedev on Zverev: We Were Never Close Friends
Speaking to journalist Sasa Ozmo in Banja Luka presser this week, Djokovic shared a secret.
The 10-time Australian Open champion dreams of coaching one player.
Nick Kyrgios.
“[I would like to coach] Kyrgios,” a smiling Djokovic replied immediately when asked who he would like to coach. “He would probably win five Slams with me, but it would cost him dearly.”

Of course, the smiling Serbian superstar’s comments were clearly tongue-in-cheek, right?
Then again, when it comes to winning Grand Slam titles you have to take 22-time major champion Djokovic seriously even when he’s joking.
Still, it’s not out of the question we could see the former feuding foes turned friendly rivals turned Wimbledon opponents turned friends actually share the court together.
Wimbledon runner-up Kyrgios, continuing his recovery from knee surgery in January, posted this doubles invitation to Wimbledon champion Djokovic on Instagram last December.
The post remains pinned on Kyrgios’ Instagram so we assume the doubles offer still stands.
Imagine the magic (and mayhem) a Djokovic-Kyrgios partnership could bring to the court, along with the hope that if these two former feuding foes can patch up their differences and poke fun at their past problems maybe there’s hope for all the rest of us to join hands in the tennis world and get along.
