WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men’s tennis team concluded play at the annual Wake Forest Invitational Sunday evening as the Demon Deacons recorded several victories during the three-day event.
For the Deacs, Bozo Barun continued his stellar play this fall as the freshman reached the semifinals of the A1 East draw before falling to Maxence Bertimon of VCU (4-6, 6-2, 6-1). Junior Luciano Tacchi joined Barun in reaching the A1 East semifinals before suffering his first defeat to Matisse Bobichon of VCU (6-2, 6-4) to conclude main draw action.
Additionally, Juan Lopez de Azcona reached the A2 East semifinals before falling to Holden Koons of James Madison (6-3, 6-3).
In doubles action, Lopez de Azcona and Barun won three consecutive matches en route to earning the A East doubles crown.
Togan Makzume and Adam Duane also had a strong doubles showing as the duo won the C South doubles title.
Of note, Wake Forest was represented in the semifinals of each draw.
