Dean Ends Cal Run At ITA All-Americans

The Bears began playing at ITA All-Americans last Saturday and continued competing in Tulsa until Theo Dean’s loss this Saturday.


TULSA, Okla. – The California men’s tennis team’s week-long stay at the ITA All-American Championships ended when Theo Dean fell in the consolation singles draw Saturday at the Case Tennis Center.
 
Ranked 44th in singles, the Golden Bear graduate student lost to North Carolina State’s 33rd-ranked Braden Shick 7-6(3), 6-2 in the round of 16.
 
DAVIS, Calif. – Cal posted two victories Saturday in the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis.
 
The Golden Bear pair of sophomore Jonathan Irwanto and freshman Bernardo Munk Mesa defeated the Aggie duo of Rithvik Katpelly and Ryan Torres 8-4. Irwanto also beat Sam De Vries of UC Davis 6-4, 6-3.
 
The annual tournament ends Sunday.
