Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis senior Ana Cruz leads the team in wins through the second day of competition at the Gamecock Shootout.
Cruz, a Sao Paulo, Brazil, native won her second singles match of the tournament in straight sets, taking out SMU’s Jackie Nylander 6-4, 6-4.
The rest of the Gamecock squad was unable to get going on the day, dropping six singles matches and the team dropping three doubles matches on the day.
South Carolina will conclude play on Sunday with one round of singles beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Matchups and final scores will be made available on the tournament webpage.
