Cougars Have Solid First Day at Baylor Invitational


WACO, Texas  – The Washington State Women’s Tennis Team opened play at the 2022 Baylor Invitational with multiple victories in singles sand doubles Friday during the first day of pay at the Hurd Tennis Center on the Baylor campus.
 
Playing in a hidden dual format where singles are played against one team and doubles another, the Cougars open the event with two singles and two doubles victories. In singles play, sophomore Maxine Murphy and junior Fifa Kumhom recorded straight-set wins while Elyse Tse and Yura Nakagawa  and the duo of Eva Alvarez Sande and Murphy each won by identical scores of 6-3.
 
Play continues Saturday at the Baylor Invitational with another round of singles and two rounds of doubles.
