EUGENE, Ore. (Nov. 2, 2024) – For the second-straight day, freshman Chisato Kanemaki captured two wins to lead Washington State Tennis during the second day of play at the Duck Invitational Saturday, at the Student Tennis Center on the Oregon campus.
Kanemaki opened the day teaming with Martina Puvill to defeat Idaho’s Lena Beckx and Valentina Rodas, 6-2. Kanemaki then needed three sets to defeat Oregon’s Candela Aparisi, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7, one of three singles victories for the Cougars. Also posting singles wins for WSU were senior Hania Abouelsaad, who defeated Oregon’s Tilde Jagare, 6-4, 6-1, while sophomore Martina Markov defeated Karin Young of Oregon, 3-6, 7-5, 12-10.
Play concludes at the 2024 Duck Invitational Sunday.
