CLEMSON, S.C. β TheΒ Clemson Menβs tennis team hits the road for the first time this season as they head to Lynchburg. Va. to take on Liberty and VCU. The Tigers play the Flames at 5 p.m. on Friday and the Rams at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The live stream for both matches is available here.
The Tigers leads the all-time series 3-0 against Liberty, most recently defeating the Flames 6-1 in Clemson in 2021 and will play in Lynchburg for the first time in the series.
The Rams and Tigers have faced off six times in their history, with VCU leading the series 5-1. The most recent matchup between the programs was in 2001 as the Rams swept the Tigers 4-0.
The Tigers are off to a 6-1 start in the 2023 campaign. Despite falling to No. 8 South Carolina, Clemson dominated against South Alabama and Nebraska, defeating the Jaguars 5-2 and the Huskers with a 4-0 sweep. Ryuhei Azuma earned his first career ACC Player of the Week honor as he registered two straight victories on Court 1, taking down South Alabamaβs No. 123 Collard and Nebraskaβs No. 75 Hietaranta.
Earlier this season Clemson swept both ETSU and The Citadel. Matt Pitts earned his first career win at line 1 and Ethan Silva registered his first dual singles win.
