CLEMSON, S.C. βΒ Β The Clemson menβs tennis team will play a pair of matches this week as the Tigers will face Georgia Tech on Wednesday, March 15 at 5 p.m. before heading to Boston College on Friday for a 3 p.m. first serve. Clemson dominates the series against the Eagles with a 22-1 record and hasnβt lost since 2008. Most recently, the Tigers earned a 4-0 sweep at home in 2022.
Clemson narrowly leads the all-time series against Georgia Tech, 30-28. The last time the two programs met the Yellow Jackets defeated Clemson 5-2 last season in Atlanta.
Most recently the Tigers dropped the first two ACC matches against NC State and Wake Forest at Duckworth. The Wake Forest match was highlighted by a Court 1 doubles win from Spencer Whitaker and Max Smith over the No. 40 doubles pair of Lopez de Azcona/Moroni in come from behind fashion. After being down 4-1, the duo won five straight games to secure the victory. In addition, Matt Pitts earned his first top-100 win of the season over No. 95 Karimov, once again coming from behind 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 on Court 3.
The Tigers are off to a 9-5 start with an 8-4 home record in the 2023 campaign.
