BERKELEY, Calif. – Playing four matches in just over 24 hours, Reece Carter fought until the very end of ITA Northwest Regionals, finishing fourth in singles after a battle in the 3/4 playoff match Tuesday morning.
Carter was the only non-Stanford competitor left in the final day of Regionals action, with her singles opponent Alexis Blokhina qualifying for the NCAA Singles Championship with a three-set win over the Husky.
The junior finished the long weekend with a 4-2 singles record and 3-1 doubles record with partner Alexia Jacobs.
Blokhina and partner Xu will face teammates Connie Ma and Valerie Glozman in the doubles final this afternoon with the winners qualifying for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
