Carter, Fulgenzi, Wilkins Tab All-Pac-12 Honors


TUCSON – Three members of the Arizona Women’s Tennis team have garnered All-Pac-12 accolades, as announced by the conference office on Friday.

Reece Carter tabbed All-Pac-12 First Team honors for the second consecutive season, and Brandelyn Fulgenzi and Kayla Wilkins earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition. Wilkins’ honors are the second of her career.

Carter has played at the top singles spot for all but two of Arizona’s matches this season, winning 10 matches in dual competition at that spot. She has defeated four nationally-ranked singles opponents and four ranked doubles opponents. She has totaled 14 doubles wins, 10 of which occurred in dual match play.

Fulgenzi has tallied the second-most singles wins on the team this year with 17, and 15 of those have taken place during dual match competition. The graduate student has posted an 11-2 record at the No. 5 spot in singles and has totaled 10 wins at No. 1 doubles.

Wilkins totaled 16 singles wins over the course of the season, and 13 of those have been during dual match competition. She has played all over the singles lineup and won all three matches she played at No. 1 singles. The graduate student has posted nine wins in doubles in the dual match part of the season.

Arizona begins its NCAA Championships run Saturday, May 4 at 8:00 a.m. MST against No. 18 Oklahoma in College Station, Texas.
