GREENSBORO, N.C. – A total of 421 Tar Heels have earned spots on the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2021-22 school year, as announced on Friday by the league. It marks the fourth year in a row that UNC’s total has topped 400.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity sport while earning a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2021-22 academic year. The conference honored more than 5,500 ACC student-athletes, marking the third year in a row above the 5,000 mark.
“Congratulations to our Tar Heel student-athletes who are recognized on the 2021-22 ACC Academic Honor Roll,” said Dr. Michelle Brown, Assistant Provost and Director of the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes at UNC. “For the fourth year in a row, the number of honored student-athletes has exceeded 400. We are proud of the hard work and achievements of our student-athletes as they strive for academic excellence.”
Four Tar Heels – Caden O’Brien from baseball, Emma Trenchard from women’s lacrosse, and Meredith Sholder and Eva Smolenaars from field hockey – earned the honor for the fifth time in their UNC careers.
