TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville’s Etienne Donnet bowed out of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Championships with a second round loss to Michigan’s No. 17 Ondrej Styler Thursday afternoon at the University of Tulsa.
After upsetting the 18th ranked player in the ITA preseason rankings in the first round on Wednesday, Donnet faced No. 17 Ondrej Styler from Michigan on Thursday. The Louisville senior from Lyon, France lost 6-2 in the first set, and battled in the second set before falling 7-6 (7-5).
In the tournament, the Cardinals combined for three singles wins and a trio of doubles victories as the duo of Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues qualified for the main draw after three straight wins in the qualifying draw.
The Cards will return to action next week when ITA Ohio Valley Regional comes to Louisville with the Cardinals and Bellarmine University serving as co-hosts for the tournament.
