COLUMBUS, Ohio – This week, Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff of the Ohio State women’s tennis team are traveling to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships. Cantos Siemers is in the singles main draw, with Ratliff in singles qualifying. The tandem is also in the doubles main draw.

Singles qualifying, with 64 players, starts Monday, with the 32-player main draw beginning Wednesday. The doubles main draw bracket includes 32 teams, with play starting Wednesday.
Singles matches will all be best two-of-three sets with no-ad scoring. Main draw doubles will be two sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set with no-ad scoring.
Buckeye This and That
- This fall, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff both competed in the Fall Ranked Spotlight in Cary, N.C., in singles and as a doubles team. Ratliff reached the semifinals of the A-1 draw and finished the weekend 3-2. Cantos Siemers dropped her opening match in the A-1 draw to drop to consolation play, but won three of her final four matches to close out the weekend 3-2. In doubles, the two were 1-2.
- In the ITA preseason rankings, Cantos Siemers was 10th in singles, with Ratliff No. 51. As a duo, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff were 24th in doubles.
- Last year Cantos Siemers earned ITA All-America and All-Big Ten accolades. She was 34-10 overall in singles and 26-12 in doubles.
- Ratliff, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, posted a 28-11 singles mark and was 25-18 in doubles a season ago.
- As a doubles team in 2021-22, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff were 16-7, captured the ITA Midwest Region title and earned the Big Ten’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
Home Action Ahead
- 14-16, Ohio State will host the Buckeye Invite, welcoming teams for three days of singles and doubles action at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in the Auer Tennis Complex.
