Buffs Join Team Impact And Sign Chi-Hasselbach Sisters

BOULDER — The Colorado women’s tennis team joined Team IMPACT Saturday and signed a pair of sisters in 8-year-old Clara Chi-Hasselback and her five-year-old sister Allison to Team Impact National Letters Of Intent.

“Today is a special day for our program,” said head coach Anthony Pham. “The one common theme about playing tennis for Colorado is that we ask our players to play fearless, selfless and never give up. Getting to know Clara and Allison, we know that they embody all of those qualities. We are so happy to have them join our CU family.”

Clara, a 4-foot third-grader from Monarch PK-8 in Louisville, joins the team and is very excited to learn to play tennis with the Buffaloes. She loves to read, dance and play softball. Clara inspires to become a fashion designer after school and enjoys learning science, math and art.

Allison is a kindergartener at Monarch PK-8 standing at 3-foot, 4-inches. She enjoys math, science and music. Allison owns a very large stuffed animal collection and aspires to be a veterinarian one day.

The Buffaloes’ newest members will get to cheer on their teammates starting Jan. 20 when the team hosts Weber State for the first dual match of the 2023 season.

About Team Impact:
Team IMPACT matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved. For a healthy child, there are a number of systems through their family, school, or larger community where they are able to find support and socialization. For children living with a serious illness or disability, these systems can be strained. Team IMPACT provides a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for a child and their family to connect with a college athletic team and local campus community.
