COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State women’s tennis team had four singles players and two doubles teams listed in the ITA Preseason Rankings released this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Irina Cantos Siemers, a two-time All-American, All-Big Ten selection and NCAA singles qualifier, is No. 10 in singles. The senior has been ranked in the Top 16 nationally since March 25, 2021, reaching as high as No. 4.
Three-time All-Big Ten selection Isabelle Boulais, a graduate student in her fifth year, is No. 37 in the singles rankings. She reached a career high of No. 19 a season ago when she earned her second NCAA singles berth.
Sophomore Sydni Ratliff, who entered the rankings following last fall’s competition, is No. 51 to start this year. The Big Ten Freshman of the Year and NCAA individual qualifier was ranked as high as No. 43 during 2022.
Graduate student Akanksha Bhan, who transferred to Ohio State following four years at Columbia, is No. 87 in the singles rankings. A three-time Second Team All-Ivy selection, she has reached as high as No. 65 nationally.
In doubles, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff are ranked 24th. The duo, NCAA qualifiers a season ago and the 2021 ITA Midwest Region champs, were ranked the majority of 2022, climbing as high as 15th.
The duo of Kolie Allen, a fifth year senior, and Boulais is No. 32. The tandem was ranked 12th to start last season and qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships.
The Buckeyes start their fall competition schedule next week, as they head to the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic Sept. 16-18 in Greenville, S.C.
