SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah men’s tennis head coach Roeland Brateanu was named the RSPA 2024 Steve Wilkinson Collegiate Coach of the Year.
Brateanu was named the 2023 Pac-12 Coach of the Year and is a five-time ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year at Utah. He is in his eleventh season as the head coach of the Utah men’s tennis program.
Brateanu and the Utes had a historic 2022-23 season as the Utes earned their first Pac-12 Regular Season title. Utah posted a 24-6 overall record and made its second consecutive NCAA Appearance. The Utes made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-1 win over Old Dominion.
The Steve Wilkinson College Coach of the Year awards recipients are selected based on their results as team coaches with Brateanu’s award based off the 2023 season.
