RALEIGH, N.C. – The Duke doubles tandem of Brianna Shvets and Katie Codd split two matches on Thursday evening to open action at the 2022 Fall Ranked Spotlight held at NC State University.
The Blue Devil duo dropped a 6-1 decision to Cat Aulia and Lauren Anzalotta to kick off play on Thursday afternoon, but responded with a 6-4 victory over Elise Mills and Ana Cruz of South Carolina. It marked the first time Shvets and Codd have played a competitive doubles match together.
Shvets and Codd will next take on East Tennessee State’s Laylo Bakhodirova and Fernanda Carvajal on Sunday at 9 a.m., at Cary Tennis Park.
Duke will resume action on Friday morning with singles at the Cary Tennis Park. Sixth-ranked Cameron Morra will face 69th-ranked Domenika Turkovic of Arizona State at 9 a.m., while 100th-ranked Emma Jackson will take on 10th-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State also at 9 a.m. Codd will take the court in singles versus Jeanette Mireles of Texas A&M at 11 a.m.
