DURHAM – The honors keep rolling in for Duke women’s tennis senior Chloe Beck as she has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American and the ITA Carolina Region Senior Player of the Year.
She earned All-American honors for the third straight year – 2022 and 2023 in singles and 2021 in doubles. Beck is just the fourth Blue Devil to earn three or more All-America honors joining Kelly Chen (2018, 2019, 2020), Amanda Johnson (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and Vanessa Webb (1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999).
Beck, who is from Watkinsville, Ga., turned in one of the best individual seasons in school history with a 33-5 singles and 30-5 doubles mark in 2022-23. She became the fourth Blue Devil to collect 30 or more singles and doubles wins in a single season, while registering back-to-back 33-win seasons. Beck was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, while playing No. 1 singles. She received an invitation to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second consecutive season and advanced to the round of 16.
She reached the 100-win mark in only 124 matches, which was the second-quickest in school history. Beck graduated in May with a degree in psychology along with a neuroscience and environmental science and policy minors. She is expected to return in 2023-24 for a fifth year with the Blue Devils.
Last week, Beck was named College Sports Communicators First-Team Academic All-American, becoming the first Blue Devil tennis student-athlete to earn the accolades on multiple occasions.
