Beck, Drummy & Jackson Set for NCAA Singles Championship

ORLANDO – The NCAA Singles Championship bracket has been released with a trio of Duke women’s tennis standouts set for action, beginning on Monday, May 22 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. Fans will be able to watch the competition with Cracked Racquets providing coverage of the entire event.

Senior Chloe Beck earned the No. 6 overall seed and opens play Monday at 9 a.m., against 91st-ranked Taylor Melville of Denver.  Fellow senior Georgia Drummy drew No. 2 overall seed Mary Stoiana of Texas A&M in round one beginning at 3:30 p.m.  Sophomore Emma Jackson will face 12th-ranked Ayana Akli of South Carolina in her first match at 9 a.m., Monday.

Beck, a product of Watkinsville, Ga., has been ranked in the top-six nationally the entire season and as high as No. 2.  She has turned in one of the best individual seasons in Blue Devil history collecting a 31-5 overall record.  Beck has notched 14 wins against ranked opponents, including three versus top-10 foes.  She became just the fourth Blue Devil to collect 30 singles and doubles wins in a season.  It marks the second straight year Beck has qualified for the NCAA singles competition.

A native of Dublin, Ireland, Drummy is making her second appearance in the NCAA Singles Championship, after last competing in 2021.  After opening the season with injuries, Drummy has come on strong down the stretch winning seven out of her last eight singles matches.  She has totaled a 12-6 ledger on the season and posted four wins versus ranked opponents.  Drummy has been ranked as high as No. 8 nationally with that coming in the preseason poll.

Appearing in her first NCAA Singles Championship, Jackson is coming off totaling a 22-11 singles mark on the season.  Jackson, who is from La Grange Park, Ill., owns five wins versus ranked foes this season.  She faced Akli in the fall at the ITA Fall Regionals and registered a 3-set victory (4-6, 7-5, 7-5).
